Neither Here Nor There

i dont know why this memory came to mind today. but while i was working in the turkey barn for the last hour of the entire summer, i came across a thought. last hour of the entire summer. man what a great feeling that is. course now i'll still probably be expected to do chores every now and then. and chores are terrible when they have no monetary value. but that is neither here. nor there...

does anybody the TVO kids of yester-year? the one from way back? back before it was "The Space". back before Giselle came along and permanently scarred children's television for everyone. even back before Phil came along and made things cool again for a time. but not so far back as when it was hosted by Patty and Kevin. yes, that's right, there was a Kevin. most people don't seem to believe that. they just think that he was a host of Stuff and nothing else. but i can remember back when he hosted nothing but the main show with Patty for awhile. but that is neither here. nor there...

anyways. after Kevin left the show for awhile. before returning to host Stuff with Julie 1. the good TVO kids was hosted by Patty and Joe. who were by far the best. can any one remember the superheroes that they created for each season? Patty played two of them and Joe played two of them. and they always pretended things like that the one host had just missed the superhero to cover up the fact that he or she was playing them. of course, i caught on right away. because i can remember even when they held contests to design the superheroes...

Captain Summer was the first one i can remember. he was played by Joe. i drew a comic strip of him for another contest and got a postcard signed by Joe and Patty and Rekah. (Rekah? that's another story). then came to Autumn Avenger. played by Patty. kinda cool. she had a huge maple leaf for a helmet. then The Chill. played by Joe. SOOO AWESOME. the best one by far, so cool. lastly the Springinator. deserved to be last. so dumb.

yup. i'm old.

i remember all of that!!! patty and joe were definitely the best.
childhood was made for us, all the good disney movies (lion king, snow white, pinnochio, etc) were all made when we were like 5. we were the disney generation! and now they just suck.

and i saw patty on the subway once. she was sitting across from me with some guy from degrassi. kind of scary when childhood tv and real life collide.

this generation is definitely the dora generation. they just watch terrible educational programs, so they dont get really cool television hosts or disney movies. it makes me sad. my kids are gonna watch the classics, none of this new junk. if it means i have to go back in time and tape old tvo kids episodes, so be it...

i watched the zone on ytv. i can remember vaguely back to the original, with phil who was awesome. was it the same phil? and then there was paul. and snit, the robot thingy. and one time paul and phil went alien hunting and set up this whole alien hunting van and everything. and they found something. but they wouldn't reveal it for a long time. and i don't remember what it ended up being....maybe it was snit? yeah actually now that i think about it, i'm pretty sure that's what it was.
then one day they just disappeared. maybe i missed the farewell episode, but i turned on the tv one day and they were gone. and there were 2 new people. pat and jenny. and they pretended to be confused and not understand where they were. and there was this toilet in the wall, and the wanted to know what was in it but were scared to open it. and i remembered from phil and paul that it had been a tv. so it drove me crazy, i was shouting it at the television, "it's a tv it's a tv" and i tried to write them a letter even i think. then when they finally opened it, it turned out to be a hand. in the toilet. they never really explained that. then the hand died eventually saving pat and jenny from these mutant..bug...things. then jenny left, and pat got all depressed and demanded a new co-host so they sent him sugar. then i stopped watching, but i know eventually pat left. i wonder what's happening now?

and to think this all happened between pokemon and dragon ball z.
