Est. 1989

I used to think that the "Est." in clothing brands and buttons and whatnot stood for "Estimated", like the stores couldn't remember exactly when they started making clothes.

I later realized it probably stands for "Established".

HAHA. i have a habit of reading things aloud. except in my brain. that makes no sense. it's almost like i'm mouthing the word though. wow, i'm just making this more complicated.
anyhow.
i read the title to myself before reading the post and i was like "estimated 1989".

For some reason, before I seriously thought about it, I always assumed that Est. was just a Latin word that just got tossed around in English a lot. Like "etc" or "sic".

You all must be dumb, estimated really? and etc. is an abbreviation for the word etcetera, a latin/english word, not thing
